Unexpected crises - an auto accident, loss of a job, health problems - all examples that daily bring clients to the door of Center of Hope. Through the compassionate service of staff and volunteers, clients receive a variety of services. Assistance is tailored to fit the needs of the clients and most often includes:

• Budgeting
• Rent and Utility Payments
• Counseling
• Case Management
• Referrals for other program benefits
• Advocacy on the client's behalf with landlords, utility companies and medical facilities.

The goal of Center of Hope is to empower and enable people to gain control of their lives, maintain their dignity and become hope-filled, productive citizens of the community.

For a variety of reasons, many people do not qualify for other social service programs or assistance.  That’s where Center of Hope steps in and in many cases, makes a big difference.  Consider these facts:

• Approximately 80% of the families that receive rent assistance from Center of Hope have not been evicted within 6 months after receiving assistance.
• 65% only need assistance one time.
• Of the 35% returning for service, 80% are families.
• In 2007, Center of Hope provided $532,000 in rent and other assistance to over 1,770 families.
• The average assistance payment is approximately $300.  It’s amazing how so little helps so much.
• 100% of the people receiving help from the Center of Hope are immediately prevented from becoming homeless.

Volunteering & Financial Donations

Become a Center of Hope Volunteer and you can welcome clients, assist with clerical, computer and telephone service. Our Volunteers also contribute to preparation, printing and mailing of the Center of Hope publications.
