Center of Hope is all about helping people…offering hope…when faced with life’s challenges.  If you’re looking for help to avoid eviction or utility shut-off, having trouble meeting your financial obligations or feeding your family, the Center of Hope can offer a helping hand.

Not only can we help with financial and material assistance, but we can offer on-going contact with you to help you navigate your situation and steer you in the direction of other support agencies and services.

The following description explains how the Center of Hope works, what to expect and what we need from you in order to help you.

The First Step:  Call 267-0222 for an appointment.
We take calls for appointments every Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Center of Hope is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We are closed for lunch from Noon to 1:00 p.m. daily.  It is during these hours that we meet for scheduled appointments.  Once scheduled, it is important to keep your appointment.

What to bring
There are a number of documents that you should bring that will help us as we evaluate your situation and allow us take immediate action:

• Photo ID
• Social Security cards for everyone in the household
• Lease agreement and the name and phone number of your landlord
• Eviction and/or utility shut-off notice (if applicable)
• Utility bills
• Receipts for rent
• Documents to verify all sources of income or assistance for the past month
• Verification of termination of income if you’re not working or have no income

What to expect
At your appointment, you will first be interviewed by one of our volunteers who will complete an “Intake Sheet” for you.  They will ask for specific information regarding your situation and make certain that you have all the necessary information to proceed.

Following this initial interview, you will meet with one of our staff members who will review your information, ask additional questions and make a determination on what steps should be taken.  Assistance is typically provided immediately unless additional information is needed.
