Center of Hope's goal is striving to prevent homelessness - one family at a time.
Now in its 21st year of addressing social problems in the Wichita area, Center of Hope depends on private donations for continuation of its ministry. Every penny donated goes directly to meet the needs of clients. All staff members are volunteers, and the Sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ, the Sponsors, pay all operating expenses.
Many people for various reasons, do not qualify for other social service programs and Center of Hope is the one place to which they can turn for help. During the fiscal year just ended, 3,573 persons, including 1,952 children, were assisted - at an expenditure of $401,759!
Follow-up research reveals that more than 70% of the families who where helped with rent are still living at the same address nine months after that assistance. This is a great success rate!
Despite the affluence of our times, many people are, and will continue to be, in need of the services of the Center of Hope whose vision is "offering Hope for tomorrow through assistance today".
